Hi Folks
Rather than keep up two blogs going I’ve moved this blog over to my personal blog…. come see see me over there. www.DavidMacD.com/blog
Adam Lambert is gifted, but he doesn’t know who gave him the gift.
Kris Allen was 4 years younger than Adam Lambert, and not as confident. But Kris knows where his gift came from. Adam is still looking. He treked off to “Burning Man”, a New Age pagan drug/sex fest in the desert. His spiritual journey ended with open mouth gay kissing photos posted all over the web.
Whether or not that cost him the title is anybody’s guess. But being an idol is also about managing your image. And even though Adam worked his butt off to look cool and manage his image, he ultimately failed. Not only from his racy sex life. He never let America into his heart. Because he didn’t know who is deep within his heart. Jesus.
I pray for Adam. He’ll be a star, but if he doesn’t eventually realize that it is Jesus who gave him his talent, he’s going to have a checkered future of drugs, seances and dangerous sex. Sounds like my past. I was in the US National Tour of “Cats” and was into glam pop and the gay community… it’s a miserable place to be.
Double message: Invited by the Governor General, then pulled aside by the Police …
Morgentaler petition
On Monday April 27, 2009 at 5pm I received a call from the Governor General’s office, saying that a representative from the Governor General’s Chancellery would meet with me at the gate of Rideau Hall so I could present a petition of 18,222 names opposing Morgentaler’s Order of Canada. This was after two weeks of no communication from them after my initial contact on Apr 14, where they said they would get back to me. (They gave me one business day to prepare). On April 28, I was asked by Lucy Caron Director of Communications what they should expect when they came out to meet me. I said “I will be joined by a delegation of about 12 young people.” Ms. Caron, said that she and Madeline Proulx, from the Chancellery would meet with me.
On Wed. April 29th at 9:15 AM, 10 young people from 4MyCanada, and Frances Wilkinson, a woman who regrets her abortion gathered with me. At 9:25 Lucy Caron came out and asked if I would like to come inside the gate. Thinking of possible press photos I said “no, out here is fine”. She said “no photos, you don’t have permission.” I said “There is no reason not to photograph passing 18,222 names to the Governor General.”
David MacDonald shaking hands with Madeline Proulx of the Chancellery office of the Governor General. Lucy Caron on the left. The big video camera on the left belong to the Governor General’s office, the people who said we could not photograph.
After I read a letter. Lucy Caron waved to the young people and they went back inside the gate with the petition. Two TV quality camera’s were present, they belonged to the Governor Generals office. I thought it was odd that Lucy Caron said before we started “no camera, you don’t have permission, but showed up with a broadcast quality video camera with a shotgun directional audio mike.
We stood around for several minutes discussing what just happened. Then two officers of the RCMP “Special Events to the Governor General” unit came to us. The officer, pulled me away from the other young people. I said I would like them to be with me. He said “no, I would like to speak with you alone.” He proceeded to take my name address and telephone, asked what organizations I was representing and said he was investigating an “unscheduled protest”. I told him that we had an appointment and had informed Lucy Caron Communications Director, that we would have 12 young people with us, and that is what we have. He said there is a “protest sign”. I said “I hardly think of one woman holding an ‘I regret my abortion sign’ to be an unscheduled protest.”
He had been dispatched by the coordinator in charge of public events of the Governor General. I said “I find this extremely intimidating, and I think you are sending a strong message to these young people that if they disagree with the government, they will be treated like suspected criminals.” He said “we have a right to know what is going on with everything that is happening in the world.” I said “We are here because we were invited by the director of Communications for the Governor General.”
This is less than 10 minutes after receiving the “privilege” of meeting the Governor General’s chancellery’s representative and the director of communications. This was a real double message from the office of the Governor General. It can only be one of two things…it is either harassment and intimidation or it is a “miscommunication” by the Director of Communications for one of the most important offices in the country. The RCMP officer knew my name when he approached me… and he knew it was my initiative, and correctly singled me out of 12 people. And he talked to the Commissionaire guard on duty who knew our purpose. So I would have trouble with the “miscommunication” excuse. It’s a strange world where people are honoured for creating a law that allows babies to be shot through the head a few minutes before birth, and people who peacefully disagree are interogated…
Another day out with my “I regret lost fatherhood” sign.
As I was walking across the street from the abortion clinic with my “I regret lost fatherhood” A lady came up on her bike, and said “I want to tell you that I don’t regret my abortion.” She drove away.
A senior citizen came up to me. She said her name was Delores Lloyd. She said
“When I was 15 I got pregnant. My father tried to force me into an abortion, but I said ‘it’s my body, and I’m keeping my baby.’ My son is now 54 years old and he’s the joy of my life.”
She became a nurse in the 60’s and worked in Ponoka Mental, which was a mental hospital. She said “more than 80% of all women there were there because of abortions.”
A few minutes later the first lady who said “I don’t regret my abortion” returned. She was on the phone and running up to the sidwalk and waving her hands. Then the police came.
Frances was on the clinic side of the street walking evenly between Queen and Sparks, back and forth.
They threatened to arrest her and told her to get to the other side of the street. They walked back across the street and when they saw me filming they got into the car. Then they called me over. He asked me invasive questions like whether Frances was my partner, what organization I was with, and asked for my ID and ran a check on my ID.
He said “we are just making sure you aren’t blocking the street. That’s what we did with the Tamils.”
I said “The Tamils had the run of the street for a week. Today, the sidewalk is empty, it’s a rainy day. I don’t think what you are doing here is very good.”
The constable said “I don’t think bombing a clinic is good. I don’t think lots of things are good.”
I said “I find that offensive.”
He said “we’re just trying to keep the peace, we had a complaint.”
I said “I know who the woman is and it has nothing to do with blocking the sidewalk.”
He said “There was an incident where a woman grabbed a client going into the clinic and gave her literature, we’re trying to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
I said “I would challenge that that happened.”
He said “You have just committed an offense by challenging me, I can put you in handcuffs right now and charge you and you’ll never get near this place again.”
I said “I then question whether that really happened”
He said “It did, but no charges were laid.”
I said “I question that. It seems like what is happening here is harrassement.”
He said “do you know what harassment is?”
I said “Yes”.
He said “Look I’m a public servant, I’m not here to take sides, have you ever had a bad neighbour… it’s like that… you should be on this side of the street, they on that side of the street.”
So now we live in a city where the police don’t even need to have a bubble zone to restrict one woman from walking in the rain on an empty sidewalk with an “I regret my abortion sign.”
My saddest experience at the clinic
Yesterday, I had one of the saddest encounters of my life in front of the abortion clinic. A woman who had had 3 previous abortions was waiting outside the clinic. I spoke about my abortions, and how I felt now. She said, “my baby has a beating heart, I saw it’s heart beating, but I’ve got to take care of the 2 kids I have with me, I’m afraid of the Children’s Aid Society taking them and I’ve been on drugs and alcohol and I tried the morning after pill which didn’t work. So my baby is already messed up. I’ve lost 50 pounds and am not sleeping. I know it’s murder, so you don’t have to tell me that it is alive. I know it is.”
I said “I work with people with disabilities and they are very precious and happy to be alive, and there is a good chance your baby is not disabled.”
She said “You seem like a nice man who is responsible, but the father of my baby took off, and I’ve got 2 kids at home and I can’t handle another one.”
I said “I was like that but I got cleaned up and my life turned around many years ago.” I said “I have a good job and I’m willing to adopt her.”
She stopped and looked at me for a moment, as if to consider it and said “but I’m not going to go through a long pregnancy with my current kids.”
I said “I can help, there is much help.”
She said “If you want to help anyone go talk to the disappearing fathers.”
I said “when we don’t know God we men sometimes do terrible things, and are selfish and irresponsible.”
She said “I’ve done many selfish and irresponsible things too … hitting my kids sometimes when I can’t cope, and always afraid of the CAS, drugs and alcohol … you know, you are not going to make me change my mind. I know I’m going to hell” as tears welled up.
I said “it doesn’t have to be this way. God is really good at making things work out. God loves us so much.”
She said “God never listens to my prayers.”
By this time I was crying too. I said “sometimes it seems like he’s not listening, but when we look back we can see clearer. I can help you, and I know many others who can help us.”
She said “I’ve got to go” and crying, she asked “please pray for me.” Then she turned around and opened the door to 65 Bank street and disappeared.
I felt the emptiness of my powerless as a man, with respect to abortion. There was nothing I could do. My own lost children flashed across my mind’s eye.
I got on my bike and drove home with a lump in my throat as the world went about its business as if nothing was wrong. Nothing seems to make sense to me anymore. Am I going crazy?
I was near an abortion clinic with my “I regret lost fatherhood” sign. A young guy shuffled by me in a jean jacket and chains. He looked at my sign and eloquently said:
“Do you regret lost fatherhood every time you jerk off?”
The first thing that occurred to me is that he’s not familiar with the church teaching on masturbation, but I guess that shouldn’t surprise me. His comment actually displays an ignorance much deeper than that. It is an ignorance I’ve seen in teens, adults, Obama, and even well educated people in the “mushy middle” who have good intentions. It is remarkable that in 2009, after the Genome project, the public still does not know when life begins.
I have come to believe that teaching society this simple scientific fact is our responsibility. The government and schools won’t do it. We have to create an environment where everybody knows when life begins, where people who don’t know this simple scientific fact, will be looked at like those who say the world is flat. We have to create a simple slogan, a phrase or concept that makes this clear. So let me try it, perhaps someone can shorten it or improve it:
Men and women have 46 chromosomes in every cell of their bodies. When the sperm and the egg cells split off, they have 23 chromosomes in each cell. The sperm and egg meet to make a new human being with 46 chromosomes in each cell.
23 + 23 = 46 Chromosomes = New Human Being
Therefore, life begins at fertilization
What about down syndrome? Then there is one more chromosome in each cell, she’s still human.
What about twins? Then there are two humans. Which means it’s even more of a crime to kill. They just haven’t differentiated or separated yet, and of course the cells know exactly what they will do, even though our limited technology doesn’t. You wouldn’t kill siamese twins, especially when you know that they will separate naturally.
Doesn’t it take a few minutes to an hour to get all the Chromosomes together? The biggest computer in the world could not follow the first few minutes after fertilization. Fertilization is the miracle moment, and all 46 chromosomes are coming together. It’s when life begins.
What about stem cell research which destroys zygote at 5 days old? It is murder of the most innocent human beings on the planet. Period!
And to my friend who said sperm is just as human as an embryo… no, it only has 23 chromosomes. It needs 46 to be uniquely human.
Sarah Palin as a Guest on Saturday Night Live
Sarah did her best… but the media are so violently against her, and so violently against the unborn that she doesn’t have a chance. Sure she has faults and is maybe not ready to be president, but that is not what is messing my head up. It is the unprecedented contempt and aggression that is disturbing me.
We have entered a new era. We will not go back until after a major collapse. We are headed for a future where kids will continue to kill each other, fall to suicide, get into one sex encounter after another, and if they are lucky, enter adult life with hearts that are broken and beaten by the ravages of secular teenage life. Our parents will be pushed to an early death so we can have “quality of life”. The press will welcome every spiritual path except Christianity, which they will continue to pound, leading North America into the “promised land” of moral lawlessness.
There was a time when mothers would make sacrifices for their children. Today it is the unborn who make the ultimate sacrifice for their mothers, on the altar of the “American Dream”. Deep down most abortive mothers know what is happening, because the vast majority would keep their child if they were not pressured into abortion.
The era of Christian persecution has begun, and now we will be like the moose that was shot on Saturday Night Live to make fun of Sarah to her face. Aparently, NBC thinks its wrong to kill animals for food, but it’s OK to kill humans for convenience. It’s gonna be harder and harder to be Christian, whether North America falls to Islam, or China, or Secular Humanism.
Sarah’s attempts to be a “good sport” are to be congratulated but the contempt on the NBC set was palpable. And the new movie Religulous, and the movie George W. are all part of a much bigger movement, ultamately against the unborn, and will eventually result in the worst Christian persecution that we’ve ever seen in North America.
I’m gonna hang on tight to my faith, no matter what they try to do to shake Christianity out of society, and to ethnic cleanse North America of the “vile” Christianity upon which it was built.
In 70 years they’ll all be in the ground. I’ve got my sites on eternity, I don’t need their approval.
Comparing Normandy Beach invasion to Ecumenism (Catholics and Evangelicals).
I just got back from the Normandy beaches. I had a God moment there.I imagined all the invasions coming in. Britain took Sword Beach and Gold Beach, the Canadians on Juno beach, and the US on Omaha and Utah beach. Then it hit me.
The English fought together as one unit. The US fought together as one army and the Canadians were one army. Each of them had separate battles, each of them had their own beach (s) Yet the outcome was something great for God.
It is like that for the Catholics and Evangelicals. We cannot successfully mix our two armies, we need to take separate beachheads. We are all fighting on the right side of the war, against the culture of death and the devil, but we cannot intermingle the armies successfully.
If the English, Canadians and US soldiers went into a bar together on a Saturday night, they would be punching each other out by 11PM. And the US General Eisenhower, and English Montgomery didn’t like each other.
So it is with Ecumenism… we can come together to strategize and pray together, but in general we need to fight with our own army.
Who is denying science more? Creationists or abortion activists?
I’m not a “young earth guy”. However, I’m puzzled by something. People of the left say that Sarah Palin is “denying science” by her belief that the world is young. My question to them is this … who is denying science more…her or Obama who says he doesn’t know when human life begins?
The most blatant denial of science that is occurring thewse days is the denial of pro-abortionists who believe a human isn’t human till it pops out the womb and screams.
I wonder how many more degrees Obama will need before he can figure out what Sarah Palin new the moment she was pregnant with her 5th precious baby. Who is the one denying science?
I’ve been living in an apartment for 8 years. It’s an interesting place downtown with many characters who drink too much, and have subsidized rent and stuff. Then there are those of us who pay market value for the rent. I had heard that every 5 years the landlord is obligated to paint your apartment if you ask. So I went to our municipally supported CO-OP, mostly run be tree hugging folks who are pretty “on the left”, not that I like talking about philosophy in terms of “right” and “left”.
Anyway, I spoke with the woman in charge, who was young, confident and attractive. She said, “we have no obligation to paint, we do it on an ‘as needed’ basis if our budget isn’t used up.” I asked “do those of us who pay rent have any precedence over those who don’t?”
OOOOOPS!!! I couldn’t have said anything worse. Her face contorted up and she glared at me and said “do you think you’re better than the welfare mom, or the women who have trouble with alcohol?”
I didn’t want to get into the whole story about how I was a recovered alcoholic, drug using, post abortive, gender bending, Harlem rap producer, and messed up guy who was set free in Jesus many years ago. I didn’t think that would have helped matters much anyway. So I said “uhhh, I don’t know, I just thought that I might not get punished for being a stable, working, rent paying tenant for 8 years, while transient people get a paint job every time they move.” She said curtly “We will look at your apartment but will give preference to those who need it!” I left my name and number. As I walked out I tried to understand her level of anger. I suddenly realized for the first time, that I appear to be a member of a new oppressed quadruple minority here in urban Canada — a middle aged, straight, white, working male.
I guess her reaction is a compliment, I finally look like a normal upright citizen, who deserves to be punished for his good behaviour. I think I’m going to have to write a song called “straight, white, working man”.
