Merry Christ-Mass, 2009

Last year’s card was difficult because I had lost my singing voice and I didn’t understand why. However, deep down I knew the Lord had a plan. I just couldn’t imagine what it was. I now see that God used the setback and suffering to disassemble the walls of protection I had built around my heart during music touring and he showed me the incredible love I had for Kirsten. It was abundantly clear in prayer, through circumstances and through Spiritual direction that this is an invitation from the Lord to us. In early September we were engaged. This Christmas, I will be with the love of my life, Kirsten, and although not in full union, I still treasure every moment holding hands with her as we prepare for marriage. It is the greatest gift I could hope to experience this year. Kirsten is on staff at the National House of Prayer. I now introduce you to her.

Kirsten’s sister Laverne Kundert took this photo of us in Calgary.
David and Kirsten engagement anouncement

Kirsten says: Merry Christ-Mass to you all. If I haven’t already met you, I look forward to making introductions in the New Year!  May your time with family and friends this season be blessed.

Wedding details: April 10th, at 1 pm, at St. Mary’s Church, 100 Young St., Ottawa. Everybody is welcome, light reception in the hall afterwards.

We’d love you to help us celebrate our day, either in person or through prayer.

David – Congrats many times over on your engagement and forthcoming wedding. I knew you had again damaged your voice but this may well have been God’s way of redirecting your life. I have only warm thoughts for Kristen and yourself as you unite in all that is good.

I will be giving CSUN a try in San Diego…maybe I’ll see you there.

Anyway, I am so happy for you as you write the latest chapter in your life and add someone else to that adventure and the additional chapters yet to unfold. Congratulations, David.
