I’m Engaged
Announcement: David MacDonald and Kirsten Harty engaged to be married. The engagement was in early September. Marriage April 10 at St. Mary’s in Ottawa. Everybody will be welcome to attend the service. More details to be announced soon. Neither of us has been married before.
God is so good. I took this photo of Kirsten Sept 6, 2009.
Kirsten is on staff at the National House of Prayer, praying for our government leaders. She grew up in Calgary as an Evangelical, and converted to Catholicism 2.5 years ago after a dream about the Eucharist. We met during her conversion when she was steered to me to answer questions about the Church. She spends much time in Eucharistic adoration, regular Mass and Rosary. She just loves Jesus, and wants to give everything to him, an amazing woman.
We discerned our romantic future a year and a half ago. But I thought I was called to consecrated single life. Since then many internal and external signs for both of us revealed otherwise. Besides, we couldn’t stop thinking about each other. Her past is completely opposite from mine. I’m smitten.

Wow! I wish you a very happy and fruitful marriage. May you continue gloryfying the lord. I have been having dreams about the Eucharist myself and i love doing eucharistic adoration. It is the most peaceful and beautiful experience.

I heard the great news about your engagement at the St. Augustine of Canterbury Family Day in September 2009. I just found out about the date today when I visited your website.
David, your testimony has really touched me since you were so much in the world as I was. Kirsten, your connection with the Eucharist reflects my spiritual journey. I feel that Jesus is constantly transforming me through His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament.
I think it’s amazing that you’re getting married on the day that St. Augustine is inaugurating their new Family Centre, which was under construction the last time you were there.
